The Great Egret is a separate species. Great Egrets have all black legs and a thin yellow bill subtly downcurved, while the morph of the Great Blue has a very heavy bill and according to Sibley, "buffy-gray legs".The "Great White Heron" is actually a color morph of the Great Blue Heron.
